West Waddy have succeeded in obtaining planning permission for a substantial replacement dwelling at Beenham Hill, located in the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in West Berkshire.
The existing property known as Ararat, is a small cottage but sits within a large site with associated paddocks and enjoys stunning views over open countryside from Beenham Hill.
Ararat had been vacant for some years and fallen into a state of disrepair before being purchased by our client with the intention of redeveloping the site for their new family home.
Despite considerable challenges including AONB policy restrictions, the perceived impact on the landscape, ecology issues, and the Local Authority’s concerns over the sustainability of the location, West Waddy secured planning permission for a stunning replacement dwelling, more than double the floor area of the original cottage at Ararat.
This project demonstrates the added value that our combined team of architects and town planners can achieve for our clients.
