We are delighted to announce that Johnathan Headland has been promoted from Senior Urban Designer to Urban Design Associate. Johnathan, whose previous employment includes experience with housebuilders David Wilson Homes, joined West Waddy in 2018 with responsibility for the urban design and masterplanning output of the practice. Since joining West Waddy he has worked on a mixture of high level feasibility studies, detailed urban design layouts, as well as reports and community consultation information.
Given the strategic and long term nature of Urban Design, many of the pipeline projects that Johnathan has been involved with so far, will continue to evolve over many years. The benefit to our clients in working with Johnathan stems from his background in working for large scale housing developers. He is especially skilled at balancing the sometimes competing ambitions of exemplary placemaking with the pragmatism expected from developers with regard to value and simplicity.
Johnathan’s aims as Associate include growing the Masterplanning and Urban Design output of the practice and establishing new working relationships with innovative developers to deliver high quality public space. The practice are currently promoting a number of housing and mixed use schemes on sites up to and in excess of 1,000 residential units. Recently, Johnathan led the design of a small urban regeneration scheme at Marlborough Street in Faringdon. Take a look at the design and consultation information here. As project lead, Johnathan offers pragmatic and imaginative thinking that draws on the best of our in-house design and planning expertise to deliver projects on time and on budget.
