For anyone interested in outdoor education, live projects, science and nature, or just keen to find our what the first year Architecture students at Oxford Brookes have produced so far this year – you are welcome to attend a talk at Oxford Brookes University titled ‘Science on your doorstep – Designing a treehouse classroom’.
As part of a lecture series run by Science Oxford, West Waddy’s Ralph Saull will be introducing student speakers to showcase their designs for a treehouse classroom, one that might sit in the woodland of the new Science Oxford Centre at Stansfeld Park in Headington in the future.
Ralph is an Associate Lecturer at Oxford Brookes, teaching on the year one undergraduate programme. Together with Professor Jane Anderson, he will be speaking on the importance of live projects in architectural education, and the role of the architect in practice in finding the right balance between art and science for each unique project.
Students will present their projects and the audience are invited to ask questions and discuss the subject of science in architecture.
