Post: Part I or Part II Architectural Assistant
Salary: Negotiable
Hours: 37.5
Key purpose of job:
To assist design staff with architectural work/services across all RIBA Work Stages.
Key job responsibilities:
Under the supervision of a qualified Architect/senior member of staff:
- Assessing client/user needs and assisting with the development of clients/user briefs.
- Scheme design work involving preparation of planning drawings and assisting with submission of Planning/Listed Building Consent applications.
- Assist with detailed design work including the preparation and submission of Building Regulation drawing packages, assisting others in the preparation of working drawing and production information.
- Where appropriate assist others with tender action, contract documents and contract administration including site inspections throughout the construction phase of projects under the supervision of qualified staff.
- Undertake measured, levels and photographic surveys.
- Assist with production of Design and Access Statements to accompany planning applications.
- 3D computer models/images.
- Maintain a programme of CPD in line with RIBA requirements.
- Maintain an up to date RIBA logbook of practical training experience for quarterly review and discussion with a nominated practice ‘mentor’
