Village Hall – Blewbury

After winning an initial design competition, West Waddy ADP were appointed as Architects for the refurbishment of Blewbury Village Hall in South Oxfordshire, on behalf of Blewbury Parish Council.

The design required innovative but practical solutions to improve the energy efficiency of the existing hall facilities, provide flexible space for the varied users and to improve the character and appearance of the hall. Particular emphasis was placed on improving the performance of the hall in terms of acoustics, lighting, energy usage and ventilation, all within tight budgetary constraints.

As part of the proposal, the entrances are re-aligned and emphasised with colourful cantilevered canopies to create open thoroughfares into the main hall and Post Office.
