West Waddy undertook a feasibility study to re-plan and re-model Tiverton Museum to create a viable and sustainable community asset. Extensive mapping of existing services and space allocation highlighted the opportunity for additional retail and community space. The study also identified the need to relocate publicly accessible spaces to create a clear separation between controlled exhibition space, and free access public areas.
Following the rationalisation of the plan, a massing study was produced to show how a remodelled extension could look, subject to more consultation and community engagement. The museum plan to take a phased approach to the works, building support and demonstrating viability through a series of smaller changes prior to fundraising for a more significant phase of alterations.
